In 2006, Regis Prograis was an amateur boxer who relocated to Houston, Texas, from New Orleans, Louisiana, after losing everything in Hurricane Katrina. During that pivotal timeframe, reading transitioned from a hobby to a lifestyle.
After becoming an avid reader and applying knowledge from books, Regis Prograis became the first world boxing champion from New Orleans in more than a half-century.
